At this time of the year I have always some special thought for 1001 Fontaines, the NGO I am participating with an exceptional team focusing on providing drinkable water for all.
Today more than 2 billion people do not have access to drinkable water. Every 90 second a kid dies because of water quality issue. We have put all of our effort in creating and deploying a sustainable solution. We are creating water kiosk which is producing water which is distributed in a social business way at a cost of 2 cent a liter which is financing the run of the business (salaries, maintenance, …). With this model we can guarantee safe drinkable water for one person lifetime for each 10$ invested. Today there is almost 1 million beneficiaries / clients and the plan is to reach 10 million by 2030. We are operating in Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Madagascar. We are currently looking at new countries like Indonesia, Philippines, India and some countries in Africa.
